Summer Football Tournament

On a sunny Sunday on June 8th, Transcend hosted the first, of what we hope to be many, 5-a-side football tournaments down in Barnes, South West London. With 8 teams signed up, the format of the tournament was as follows:

• 8 teams split into 2 groups

• Each team in each group plays each other once

• The top two teams from each group advance to the semi-finals, with the winners moving on to the final

It was an early start for a Sunday morning as players and spectators arrived at the pitches for 10am with the first kick off scheduled for 30 minutes later - at 20 minutes per game, there was a whole lot of football packed into the day. As well as all the football action, there were raffle tickets to be won - and to keep competitors and onlookers going, the Transcend crew were on hand serving up hotdogs with all the trimmings.

Thanks to everyone who came down to support and take part in the matches, in total the day raised over £1600 for vital Sarcoma research. We hope that we’ll be hosting another tournament in the near future!
